The four major Optimist Clubs in Caldwell County are working together to provide a countywide football league for the
youth of Caldwell County. The county’s three high school coaches are working with the respective
Optimist Clubs to make sure Caldwell County has a top rated youth football program.
The teams
are divided into three age classifications:
1st
and 2nd Grades
3rd and 4th Grades
5th and 6th Grades
All players must play in the school district where they live.
All games are full contact with modified playing rules for Grades 1 through 4.
All games will be played on Saturday at one of the county’s three High School football fields.
Registration
for all interested football players and cheerleaders will be on Saturday, August 23rd. You
must bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate to one of the Optimist Club registration locations on August 23rd
in order to register. Registration forms can be printed from the Caldwell County Youth Football website
www.caldwellcountyyouthfootball.org. Registration will be from 9 am to 12 noon at the following
Optimist Club locations:
Hudson Optimist Clubhouse
Southern
Caldwell Optimist Clubhouse
Gamewell Optimist Clubhouse
Lenoir
Optimist Clubhouse
Football practice will begin county wide on Monday, August 25th
for all registered players.
Important Dates & Game Schedule
Summer Football
and Cheerleading Camp at Lenoir Optimist Park July 15, 16 and 17 from 9 am to 12 noon. The Football Camp
will be conducted by the coaching staffs from the three county high schools. Summer Camp fee is $10.00
each.
Saturday, August 23rd will be the County Wide Registration for all football players and
cheerleaders. ALL Optimist Clubs will hold registration from 9 am to 12 noon on this date.
The County Wide Registration fee is $35.00 for all football players. Cheerleading registration fees
vary by Optimist Club. Please see the county youth football website for more information.
Monday,
August 25th will be the first day of practice for all youth football teams in Caldwell County.
Saturday,
September 13th will be the county wide scrimmage game at South Caldwell High School.
We will also conduct the mandatory weigh in of all players. All teams will turn in their FINAL player
roster for the 2008 season on September 13th.

Cheerleading Camp
Caldwell County Youth Football & Cheerleading Camp
The
Caldwell County Youth Football League is offering a football and cheerleading camp this summer. If
your child will be entering the 1st through 6th grades for the 2008 – 2009 school year, they are
eligible to participate.
The
football and cheerleading camps will be held at the Lenoir Optimist Park on July 15th, 16th and 17th
from 9 am to 12 noon.
The fee for the camp is $10.00 per child. All camp participants will receive a
Caldwell County Youth Football T-Shirt.
Football coaches from Hibriten, South Caldwell and West Caldwell will be conducting the camp and providing instruction
to all participants. Football Campers will be grouped as follows:
Rising 1st & 2nd graders
Rising 3rd & 4th
graders
Rising
5th & 6th graders
All interested cheerleaders in grades K through 8th
